What makes the Compensation Advisory Organization of Michigan (“CAOM”) a great place to work?

  • Meaningful Work – Critical work necessary for a robust Michigan Workers’ Compensation system that supports businesses and their employees.
  • Unique – Insurance-related but not an insurance company.
  • Stable – The only employer of its kind in Michigan and required by Michigan law.
  • Good Pay – Highly competitive benefit package.
  • Career Potential – Opportunities for leadership and management.
  • Positive Work Environment – Friendly, professional employees.  Honest, transparent leadership.  Flexible work schedules.

CAOM is a private, non-profit association of insurance companies that are licensed to write workers' compensation insurance in Michigan.  CAOM collects, processes and analyzes workers' compensation policy and claim data for member insurance companies and state regulators.  CAOM also manages the Michigan Workers Compensation Placement Facility, which provides Workers’ Compensation insurance to businesses unable to obtain coverage in the voluntary market.  Established by state statute in 1983 and funded by its member insurance carriers, CAOM is the sole organization responsible for these duties in Michigan, resulting in a uniquely stable work environment regardless of economic fluctuation.  CAOM's small number of employees (less than 35) provides a tight-knit, family atmosphere and is consistently recognized for its outstanding customer service.

CAOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer offering its active full-time employees a highly competitive benefit package including but not limited to: paid time off, paid personal time, paid holidays, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life), company-sponsored retirement plan, training, and additional educational opportunities.  New hires are eligible for these benefits after respective seasoning requirements.
