Carrier of record modifications

• CAOM discontinued hard copy distribution of rating worksheets on May 1, 2019. Carriers can obtain their rating worksheets through the CDX (Compensation Data Exchange) website EXR application.
• Carriers also have the option of receiving WCRATING files. WCRATING files are transmitted to the carrier via the Compensation Data Exchange (CDX). There is no charge for the WCRATING file.
• Refer to circular letter #309 for additional information on the EXR viewer and WCRATING.

Special Request Modifications

• A carrier may be setup to request quote modifications for prospective insured’s. A $5.00 charge is assessed to the carrier for each mod produced. Refer to CAOM circular letter # 268, dated 11/06/13. 

Online Experience Modification System (OEMS)

The Online Experience Mod System (hereby referred to as OEMS) is a web based service that gives member carriers the ability to access an insured's most recent modification.

• The cost for this service is $1,000 per quarter per carrier group.
• All current experience and merit modifications display on the OEMS.
• The experience modifications were calculated using the current DCA ELRs and D Ratios.
• The OEMS is updated every Sunday.

Merit file

• There is no charge for the merit file.
• The merit file contains the lost time claim count for every rated risk with premiums between $1,000 and $5,000.
• Files contain two months of merit data. Ex: Jan file contains March and April merit data.
• The files are available on our FTP server

Online Experience Modifications System data file

• If a carrier wants to receive the OEMS data file, they must subscribe to the Online Experience Modification System.   The data is $1,000 per quarter per carrier group.
• The file contains modifications for risks with premiums greater than or equal to $1,000.
• The file contains all experience rated and merit rated modifications generated for the year.
• The experience rated modifications in the file are calculated using the current DCA ELRs and D Ratios.
• The files are created weekly. 
• The files are available on our FTP server. 

The OEMS data file and Online Experience Mod System charge is $8,000 per year. The member's  quarterly assessment will show a $1,000 charge for the OEMS data file and $1,000 charge for access to the Online Experience Modification System.

If a carrier writes low premium policies or a low number of policies  they should consider the merit file and not the OEMS data file. The cost of $8,000 per year to get the Online Experience Mod System data file may not be justified.
